AX 09
I almost don't want to post a report for AX because it's just admitting that it's over. . . . =w= it was seriously a blast and I'm hoping/planning to come back next year!
tuesday
mkage and I traveled from Canada to the lands of America. We kinda coordinated our flights that it would arrive around the same time so that it wouldn't be too much of a hassle already for e1njuwannakno to pick us up. I get thru the customs rather easily. . . but then crap happens. As always, when things go too smoothly. The captain seat was unadjustable so they had the techies come check it out, but couldn't fix it. They went to look for extra seat available to switch over to this plane, but there were no extras. . . so they had to go look for a spare plane and unbolt that one to use on this one. Once it was bolted there was a pile of paperwork to do. By the time we left I had already sent text messages and read parts of my book, played DS, and fallen asleep. . . OK the delay wasn't that long xD I just do things really fast. I was worried when I left because it stresses my dog out T^T and I hate to see her sad. I also had a gum infection o__o it was actually pretty painful when i chewed anything. . .
So the flight was about 1.5~2 hours late . . . i was getting worried because that means everyone else would be waiting on me. but i suddenly get a text message from mkage that her flight is being delayed too. Awesome :D We meet up at LAX and e1njuwannakno and cheekyjo picked us up. I forget what happened, but we ran a few errands and such. We go to e1njuwannakno's place and meet ihito and pimpmaestro88 for the first time :3 We all got along really well >w< they gave me a really nice bird artbook. <333 thank youuu. We all went to eat at a Thai place, i think called "Lucky Elephant". Pretty good except I couldn't chew well... ugh
wednesday
I forget what happens in between, but we did watch Benjamin Button. and mkage kicked me in bed when she was sleeping. cheekyjo, e1njuwannakno, mkage and I get ready to check into the hotel and get our con badges. And it was our first meeting with tsubasa_gaki, vivi and gigi (they are canadian too :3 ). Man you guys are sweethearts. Everyone in the world should be jealous of you guys' relationship. I love you guys so hard. TBH i wasn't sure if we'd get along, but i'm all over you guys now~
After we sign in the hotel rooms we also meet banditzjing and rubberyjido :D While we wait for yoursenq we rub in their face that we have the bigger room xD Our room was basically split into "the oldies" and "the younger". I had the honor to room with the other canadians and we had a nice time. The Canada room was definitely the older group.
The line up for the badges was SO LONG. We got some pictures of us doing yakusa squatting pose. ihito was our gang leader.
That night we go eat a Engine co 23*. It was a nice restaurant, classy~. Once again mkage was my food buddy and a lot of the times we split food bills. At the restaurant I find out that yoursenq was doing Italy cosplay for the Hetalia meet! I was excited and we decided to go together. xD That night Vivi and I chatted in the bathroom as we prepare our wigs for cosplay. Soon after tsubasa_gaki & co fell asleep early while e1njuwannakno, mkage and I chatted way into the wee hours of the morning.

Debut of my Canada cosplay. Gosh I'm nuts to bring an actual winter coat to summer California. I actually got used to it ahaha. While we were waiting in line there was this reaaaally strange Alucard cosplayer trying to talk to mkage and I. . . later she tells me that that creeper was playing with my eig's hair the whole time we were in line... i was like WTH?! WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME?!?! D8 Then the rest of the gang make fun of me ;;A;; srsly so creepy....
Set up time! Massive THANK YOU to banditzjing taking care of the table business and such and what not. Thanks to him i was able to walk around and do my cosplay stuff x3 yoursenq and I go to the Hetalia meet and meet up with hakuku! I look up to her for various reasons *^* her England cosplay is just so hot. I was waaaaay too shy to introduce myself properly, so she didn't know who I was for the whole time xD tsubasa-gaki and Vivi came with us and took lots of pictures for us. They were cosplaying Macross that day. The gathering was meeehhh. Very disorganized. Didn't have too much fun. Just happy to be with yoursenq and tsubasa-gaki and Vivi.
I also went to teh_ryu's table and dropped off a handful of maple caramel on her table and ran away. . . It's too much awesome for me to handle. I also went to the Kinokuniya booth at the dealers' with yourseng and saw the Hetalia volumes *___* I have been wanting to buy them for a while and just couldn't bring myself to after seeing the prices for shipping online.... So that was a immediate buy xD <333 Hetaliaaaa
At night we went to eat somewhere nice again. And yoursenq's friends also joined us. That night tsubasa-gaki and her sisters and rubberyjido came over to learn to dance <> by Perfume. It looked so fun that I joined in the practice! I really like dancing xD mkage would watch us and fall asleep. What a terrible manager-san. xD
friday
I didn't have a cosplay that day, but I was happy to be un-cosplayed lol. It turns out that hakumo who was behind my table row was cosplaying Okita Sougo!!! *___* I was floored! Her cosplay was so cute and nice. I immediately snatched her to come with me on Sunday for the Gintama gathering. She was so shy about it, but i insisted. So that was set for sunday~ Friday mkage was running around getting autographs so I watched her table for quite the while. Thank goodness for banditzjing watching the table TTATT I'm glad at least he enjoyed drawing there... ;;w;; thanks so much. He was doing Reborn cosplay with yoursenq and ihito so I watched the table when he was gone. They were srsly the hottest Reborn! cosplay EVER. rubberyjido was doing her PitaTen cosplay~ Ohhh I'm sooo jealous of that wiiiig *steal* The bunnies you sewed up were really cute xD I also met hakuku that day. She was in her Yu-Gi-Oh cosplay. I was sooo shocked that she came by *A*;;;; nearly died. She's sooo nice (and hooooot)!!
kamaniki and I were super addicted to dancing so we did a round of Chocolate Disco or two at the AA. But we got a warning because we stopped traffic xD;;; Sorry!!! And We sstill haven't done the Hare Hare Yukai dance D: maybe next year!
I don't remember where we ate, but it was good. i think it was McCormicks?
And at night tsubasa-gaki & co. andrubberyjido and I practiced more dancing. I think that night we practiced till 2am or something. We took so long because we need to compensate for some dance moves and make things a bit simpler. plus none of us knew the dance steps. TAT;;; I really dont' 'know how we managed to learn the whole thing. Miracle! And on the whim, the original 4 decided to add me into the the dance! O: but what cosplay?! I didn't prepare any! We managed to whip up a Kaiko cosplay from everyone's clothes xDDD I borrowed yoursenq's mukuro wig and wore Vivi's Higurashi skirt xDD and my white T-shirt.

In the morning the cosplay was complete! Along with everyone else's. :333 we practiced a few times during the morning already grabbing a crowd. O: and then banditzjing also decided to join in! So we ended up abandoning our table for most of the morning xD whooo owell~ The vocaloid cosplay gathering was big! Probably as big as the Hetalia cosplay gathering. It was so nice to cosplay with the whole group *w* but honestly i felt so out of place being a random vocaloid looool without any design close to the original design. OTL owell. There were actually some girls who went "Kaiko! Kaiko!! So cuuute!" I was really shocked loool. OTL;; anyway, our first attempt at Chocolate Disco was a total flail xD So eventually we did another one! And that was was almost perfect till Spiff txted tsubasa-gaki's iphone that was playing our music, and threw us off for a few seconds! D: either way It was well done~ and we attracted a number of people >w< hurray! In the end we were all glad that our efforts paid off <3 That afternoon something else awesome happened: Reuben Langdon came by mkage's table and we got his signature and ihito too!!!!!!!!!! HE"S PRETTY HOT!!! And he said that Virgil was walking around also, and might be dropping by~ (but he never did D: owell)
That night was the vocaloid panel and half of our group went, while the rest of us go grab some food. kaminiki and her friends went to eat by themselves. Korean fast food is good food <3.
sunday
last day! I help watch mkage's table again, and that day i went around to the dealer's a lot just to browse around. mkage bought me Makoto Shinkai's artbook!!!! Thank youuu!! It was also the Gintama gathering day~ I went with hakumo. I was Kagura and she was Okita~ The Gintama gathering was AMAZING! Zenzou was organizing all the cosplayers with a megaphone. She was pretty awesome. There was an ice cream cart and i asked her if she could get all the Gintoki to congregate there, it was awesome. tsubasa-gaki and vivi also came by to take pics for me~ I think everyone had lots of fun and we have great shots. There was even food at the end?! hakumo and i totally grabbed an onigiri xD. That was srsly the best gathering i've ever been to.
AA always end early on Sunday. And Art Trades are always looked forward to :D I was SO happy with the trades I go and so happy to meet awesome people!!! I met awesome artists like teh-ryu, hakuku, tobiee and yooani O: Everyone was soooo nice! I overwhelmed! *squeee*
That night we went to Little Tokyo and met up with Axl99, Dina, lynneness and Spiff. We also shopped a bit and actually saw a lot of Sheridan guys, and probably weirded them out. That night we hung out again at lynness's suite~ we danced and ate snacks and looked at all the photos from the con. We all began to feel sad already.
monday
slept in. and said sad goodbyes to tsubasa-gaki, vivi and kamaniki TTATT oh mannnn so saaaaad. I love you guys soooo much!
The drive back to e1njuwannakno's place was quiet and somewhat melancholic. But that afternoon we met up with everyone else again to take purikura pics and eat~So that's a bit reassuring.
The day ended with awesome memories of an awesome convention. Totally going back again.
