Sorry its been so long, but I don't really have much to report on that's worth updating, or at least that I think people would care to read about. But for those of you who wouldn't mind, this entry is for you. I figure I'll just update in little paragraphs that discuss Fall Break, my newly declared major, the Alkaline Trio show last week, and Batman vs. Obi-Wan (a.k.a. the fight of the century).
Spent Fall Break with Mal and her family at her house. I was kinda sick the whole time since the back of my throat was swollen like a mothafucka. I think I had tonsilitis. I had a lot of fun with her family going to a Syracuse football game, and seeing a lot of the little places where she lived. Her mom is crazy and her dad is hilarious, and I enjoyed my whole weekend. Went out on a double date with Nate and Kate one night and that was fun too, as was hanging with Matt Tull. I bought Batman Begins at 12:30 in the morning at Wal-mart, and I figure I was probably one of the first 100 people in the country to own it.
I've finally declared a major in Political Science since I enjoy it so much, and I'm happy that I've finally done so. Course registration is next week. I'm looking at a 16 credit semester I think.
Last week I saw Alkaline Trio back home at Croc Rock with Eric and Bijan, and Evan showed up. It was an amazing show, and they were a lot more animated and talkative than when I saw them in June. Plus, they played all kinds of their stuff, not just stuff to promote Crimson. Three songs that I couldn't believe they played that I loved were We've Had Enough, Fatally Yours, and Private Eye. I was right up in the front the whole time, I got one of the singer's guitar picks (I peed my pants), and saved a girl's life when she passed out right in front of me and no one but me gave a shit and cared to help her up. Reggie and the Full Effect opened, and they were hilarious. Hairy titty. I got some amazing pictures that I hope to get up on here as soon as I get them scanned.
The fight of the century took place on Sunday night. Batman vs. Obi-Wan Kenobi. I was Batman and Nate was Obi-Wan and we battled in front of the library, in front of our dorm, and in Mal's room. I had all kinds of bat gadgets including a batarang (butter knife), wrist guards to deflect the lightsaber (a large soup spoon I stuck in my sleeves), gas capsules to disappear (Tag body spray), and a spray bottle for something, not sure what, and a fork. It was the fight of the century, and it ended in a stalemate, but only after a lot of Tag and water were sprayed all over Nate. If you want to see some pictures, check out Kate's pictures on webshots (link unavailable at this time, so check her info on IM to see if they come back).
That's about all that's happened recently. I'll try and update more often than this. Saw 2 comes out Friday, and I'm stoked.
Reviews:
Stretch Arm Strong - Free At Last: Not their best (A Revolution Transmission takes the cake), but its catchy.
Domino: Excellent movie, great cinematography. Made me want to be a bounty hunter and kill people.
The Fog: Retarded. Don't waste your money unless you're going to see it with Mal, who hates scary movies.
From Autumn to Ashes - Abandon Your Friends: Different from their other stuff. More mellow. Has yet to grow on me.
Tony Hawk's American Wasteland Soundtrack: Excellent covers of old punk songs by some of my favorite bands.
Human Trafficking: Made-for-tv movies have never been so intense.
Waiting...: I didn't think it was as good as I expected it to be. Dane Cook made the movie.
AutoPilot Off breaking up: Shitty.
