Things were so much easier back then, weren't they? Well, for me it was. Despite drama and heartache. I'm sad and stressed out beyond all recognition, maybe this will help. It will at least help me procrastinate from working on school or wedding related items. This is the "Senior Year of High School Même," stolen from
jjostm.
What year was it?
1997 - 1998
What were your three favorite bands or musical artists?
Haha, I can’t believe I don’t really remember! I did like Chumbawumba for some reason. Oh! GreenDay and Weezer…and there was someone else…But I guess that count’s as three, right?
What was your favorite outfit?
Easy, not that I wore it ALL the time, a pair of vintage jeans that fit like vintage jeans with orange stitching, a black spaghetti strap tank top and a short sleeved orange button down shirt. LOVED that outfit! Oh, and my prom dress…woot!
What was up with your hair?
Totally looks the same way it does now, maybe a little bit shorter and not so many layers.
Who were your best friends?
Anna R. and Krissy L. then Tiffanie W. and Vanessa P. I’ve always been in groups of three, even if they’re separate groups! The first pair never hung out with the second and often there were fun little tiffs between them.
Where did you work?
I didn’t. My parents wouldn’t let me and I didn’t have a car anyway. I did do a lot of volunteer work. The best event was when we sold Christmas trees for the Optimists.
What did you do after school?
Octagon (community service) Club, watched Empire Records, did my homework…I was kind of a nerd.
Did you take the bus?
Not exactly. It depends on when you consider the senior year to have begun. I took summer classes to get ahead (I TOLD you I was a nerd!) at Herndon HS and had to bus out there most of the time. Otherwise, I walked to school every day that I wasn’t late…I lived a few blocks away.
Who did you have a crush on?
Who DIDN’T I have a crush on!? Okay, wait, senior year might be easier. That’s right, I actually had a boyfriend, a football player even, which was kind of cool for a nerd.
Did you fight with your parents?
Not too much…
Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on?
I don’t think I really had one then…but over my lifetime? Johnathan Brandis! *RIP*
Did you smoke cigarettes?
Not exactly, I did smoke Swisher Sweets (or whatever they’re called) at Beach Week after my senior year.
Did you have a 'clique'?
No, but I was cool with all kinds of different people-the cool kids, the jocks, the nerds, the cool nerds, the potheads, the goths, the punks, et al. I guess I was a displaced person.
Admit it, were you popular?
Um, no?
Who did you want to be just like?
The image of myself in my own mind. That’s kind of sad, but cool at the same time.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
A teacher, slim chance of that happening now.
Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now?
Doing “better” than I am now. But I’m happy with who I am and what I’m doing. I’m relatively proud of myself and what I’m doing as well.
