Quick stop

I love my bike! I passed so many people on mountain bikes on my way onto campus. A street bike is so fucking handy. I do miss having a mountain bike too, but for transportation it's just not the same.

Went to Randi's party last night. I'm glad I went. There wasn't anyone there I didn't already know, which was what worried me at first. Plus, everyone was just being real nice and social, though maybe just because everyone but me was stoned and drunk. The Autumn Equinox theme was cool too. I like feeling like the world's made a change; can't wait for the colors.

Randi invited a local homeless woman in for a while to eat with us too, which was really nice I thought. I pitched in a dollar (all the cash I had) for her too, which I think may have been a mistake. She came by half an hour later, real agitated, and asking for an ever-increasing sum of money (up to $50, I think) for her "sister & nephew who just came in from Grand Rapids." I don't think it's presumptuous to say she's got a drug problem. Glad we could offer her food, but I'm sure she'll be going by their house a lot now with other sketchy stories and pleas for money. No idea what a person like her can do in that situation...

This morning I found a gift bag with some (tasty) vegan cookies and some shaving soap from Angela/Mike and a draig goch banner I ordered for myself. That was a nice way to follow up a few hours of work.
