Character's Personality: Unlike his loud brother America, Canada is quite shy and soft-spoken. So much so that a great deal of the time he's completely forgotten by the other nations, even his own pet bear Kumajiro can't remember who he is. That is, when he's not being mistaken for America which more often than not ends up getting him beaten up for things his brother has done. Naturally, being so easily forgettable takes a bit of a toll on his self-esteem and confidence.

But despite his invisibility and history of mistaken identity, Canada is very kind, easygoing and honest. He's polite nearly to a fault and despises fighting however that doesn't mean he's a complete wimp. He has a passive-aggressive streak a mile wide and once reduced America to tears by listing every one of his faults for three hours straight.

Any special abilities or powers the character may have: Other than being invisible to the rest of the world? Since he represents the nation on Canada, he's more or less immortal. As long as the country exists, so does he. Like other nations, he also heals at an accelerated rate. This means even fatal injuries dealt to his person will heal with enough time.

Considering the fact he's so the second largest country in the world and that he and America are brothers, it can be assumed that Canada shares his brother's extreme strength although he'd only use it if absolutely necessary.

Character History: Once upon a time, Canada was part of the unexplored continent now known as North America, sitting just north of “The New World” or America, whom England had claimed as his little brother. More than a little embittered by the loss of a potential new colony, France decided to lay claim to the lands above America, whom he named “New France” and later renamed “Canada”.

Canada was quite content being a French colony. His “Papa France” was good to him (if a little touchy) and he was doted on quite a bit, even after France lost him in the aftermath of the Seven Years' War. Canada then became a British colony and things were good...for a while. One day England took him to meet his brother America but the other child quickly grew bored of Canada and subsequently forgot about him. This would become a reoccurring trend in their relationship.

When America decided he wanted to be independent, Canada chose to stay loyal to his second father. Because of the idea of Manifest Destiny, America thought it would be a good idea to try and take control of Quebec. Canada kicked his butt all the way back to his side of the border with very few casualties on his side and set the White House on fire.

By the time eighteen sixty seven rolled around, Canada had been self-reliant for quite some time and was quickly coming into his own as a nation. One day, he finally gathered the courage to politely ask England for his independence. He was granted it and, as of July first, eighteen sixty seven, Canada became his own nation, as can be seen here and here.

Canada has remained close to his “family” in the past century or so, even if England and France routinely either forget about him or mistake him for America and his brother constantly teases and also forgets him. He was an important member of the Allies through both World Wars, supplying troops and other necessities, and remains a member of the G8 to this day, although he's sometimes mistaken for a chair by Russia.

In-Character Journal Sample: U-Uh, excuse me? [Just outside the doors to The Order, meekly waving in an attempt to get the gatekeeper's attention, stands the nation of Canada. He's not exactly big nor the least bit imposing. In fact if not for the long curl of hair sticking out of his head it would be all too easy to mistake him for Alfred from a distance. Hell, even up close the resemblance is uncanny.]

Pardon me but could you please tell me where I am, eh? Hello? [When he gets no response, he heaves a heavy sigh and lightly kicks small stone with the toe of his shoe, disgruntled that he's, once again, the invisible one.]

Possible Plans: I'm really not sure...Canada is kind of useless when it comes to fighting but he'd want to help out in any way he could. He could show Jerry how to make fantastic pancakes and make sure his brother doesn't do something too terribly stupid?
