the return of...

Okay, so, since last November or thereabouts, I've been on an RPG kick. This is due directly to me discovering The Forge, a site dedicated to indie roleplaying games. There's also a very large body of RPG theory that's been developed there. It melted my face off and made me think about RPGs in ways that I had never thought of before. And it made me want to start designing again.

See, I got into RPGs back in middle school. Me and my friends didn't have access to any place that sold RPGs, but we knew what they were, and we had a vague idea of how they worked, so we made up our own. I continued designing, off-and-on, ever since. The Forge got me back on, and it got me on HARD.

Right now I'm working on one called The Rustbelt . That's the same Rustbelt as in the stories in my old posts here. I've actually been working on the Rustbelt game for about as long as I've been gaming, but it hasn't amounted to anything until just here recently. And it has amounted to awesome.

And here's some playtest threads on the Forge:

http://www.indie-rpgs.com/forum/index.php?topic=26158.0

But, anyway, I've started up my blog again because the design process and the theory and the various other games I've been reading about has all made me start wanting to say bloggy stuff, which isn't appropriate for the Forge.  So, I'll be here.
