Overnight trip from Edinburgh
Hi y'all...
So I'm going to visit a friend in Edinburgh, Scotland for 10 days starting next weekend...flying out Friday night and get in early Saturday morning. However, my friend will not be in town for that Saturday night, so I was thinking of doing an overnight trip outside of Edinburgh to see a bit more of Scotland.
Any recommendations on easy places to get to from Edinburgh that would be great to visit?? Train or bus is fine as long as it is on the cheap side. I'll be traveling alone and am not picky at all so am fine with a 5 hour or so travel time if needed to get somewhere and am totally comfortable with hostels for a place to sleep.
I'd probably prefer a location on the more rural side since I'll be spending the rest of my time in Edinburgh and wouldn't mind a little variety....but am really open to any suggestions.
