For this prompt (it started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this? It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss) at bats_and_balls, once again not even close to completed in time for the actual challenge. Oh well.

I don't know why I didn't comment last night. I wasn't that tired. Huh. Anyway!

I really, really dig this. Stuff like this reminds me of why Justin and Joel were my OTP for a while. I think what I liked the most was how the non-linear structure, like, enhanced and heightened the tension. Even knowing what happened to Joel didn't make it any less nerve-wracking. And Justin with the gloves was . . . pathetic, in the "arousing pity" sense.

I really love non-conventional story structure, so obviously I loved this too. :D :D :D Also makes me miss Justin/Joel, sigh. I kind of want to write them now. If only I could remember where I put my ability to write. :|

MOAR.

It actually is mostly linear, just running backwards! Each section is a jump farther back in time. I think the only bit where there's a skip in the linearity is the start of the third section, where Justin is thinking about the minors. I guess it's non-linear in the sense that you're missing a small chunk of time between the first two sections, and a big chunk of time between the second/third sections.

Justin/Joel 4eva. Bromance to the end of time! Or until injury forces Zoom out of the league.

Loved the structure of the fic. The middle section was really emotional, especially since I was watching the game in question. (Oh, and thanks for not impugning Gerald Laird's character. Not that you'd ever do it, but from dealing with the Texas and Detroit fanbases in regards to him, I'm going in expecting it. Anyway, I like reading about the non-sexual brotherhood of pitcher and catcher)

I think love and devotion are my bulletproof kinks. So of course I love this. :)

Thank you! Laird didn't do anything questionable in this whole mess (trust, I watched the video a whole bunch of times; in fact the bit with him waving for help and Verlander being the first guy out of the dugout after the trainer and Leyland is actually true), so he gets the easy treatment. :)

Yeah, I rewatched the video a number of times while writing this. Not particularly fun stuff.

But thank you!
