Who on the Red Sox would say, "It's a real catch-22"?

Anyone? Or is this not something that anyone on the current roster would plausibly say? Does anyone on the current roster... like... readFor surrounding plot reasons it cannot be Beckett or Lowell. Anyone else on the 40-man would work ( Read more... )

I mean someone who hasn't read Catch 22, or at least heard of it, probably wouldn't use the expression. Especially a ballplayer. I would guess most of these guys haven't read it, but if there's someone on the team who's a little bit brainier (Scherzer on the Tigers, for instance, or old school Mussina on the Yankees), I can run with it. I've been trying to think of someone on the current squad who has that rep, but I'm blanking.

I haven't read it and I know the expression and use it all the time. I must admit I didn't even know it was a novel first!

I Wiki'd it; it does look very interesting and I shall add it to the list of books I need to read! I honestly can't remember if it was ever in any of my high school or college literature reading lists, at any rate.
