“Thanks.” Dawn said, turning the doorknob.
“Remember if you need anything just ask. My door’s always open.” Mr. Belding said.
“Thanks. I’ll remember that.” Dawn said, walking out the door.
She must not have been paying attention because she bumped into someone, dropping her books on the floor. “Sorry.” Dawn said. She bent down to retrieve her books.
“It’s ok.” Kelly said. “Here let me help.” Kelly offered, helping Dawn pick up her books. “You must me new here.” She added. “I’m Kelly.” Kelly said, introducing herself.
“Thanks. Dawn. Yeah I’m new. Just moved her with my sister, Buffy.” Dawn said, collecting the rest of her books.
“Nice to meet you Dawn.” Kelly said, with a smile.
“Same here.” Dawn said, smiling back.
“Hey I was supposed to meet my friends. You wanna come?” Kelly offered.
“Sure.” Dawn said.
The two girls walked into the Max. Kelly spotted her friends at their usual booth. “Hey guys.” Kelly said.
“Hey Kelly.” Slater said.
Zack saw the new girl with Kelly. He’d never seen her before but thought she was pretty cute. “Hey Kel, who’s your new friend? She‘s cute.” Zack asked.
Dawn blushed.
“Yeah Kelly.” Lisa said.
“Guys, this is Dawn.” Kelly said, introducing her new friend. “Dawn these are the guys.”
“Hi Dawn.” Jessie said with a smile.
“Hi I’m Zack.” He said, scooting over and motioning for her to take a seat.
Dawn sat down next to Zack. He’s cute. She thought.
“Hi Dawn. I’m Lisa.” Lisa said, introducing herself. “That’s Slater.” Lisa said pointing at him, “And that, that’s Screech.” Lisa said pointing to the dorky looking guy next to her.
This might turn out to be a decent year after all. Dawn thought as she settled in with her new friends.
