It wasn't even on purpose, it was just still there after hurricane 9,623.
Yesterday was just the quintessence of FML. The huge Norman x Coulmier piece I spent god knows how many hours on - over twenty, definitely - finally got inked by the morning, and I was extremely proud of it. I let it dry all day, over nine hours, I should think. The pens I'd used to ink it were new; having not done something with that much detail on such a large scale before I didn't have pens that were appropriate, so I went and bought new ones. In hindsight I should have realized there was a problem when I also happened to ask the guy if he had any Prismacolors and he informed me very haughtily that he'd never heard of Prismacolors (who in the art trade hasn't heard of Prismacolors??) but they had some Copics over in the corner. So after making me feel cheap for no good reason, he sold me these pens. I actually liked them; they were really dark and nice.
They also went on thick. And didn't dry.
After being left all day, the moment my Prismacolors touched the lines, they smeared. This was not a dark piece. Both Norman and Coulmier are extremely pale and Norman wears bright fucking-- prison facility orange. Twenty hours of work, rendered totally useless because some asshole couldn't be bothered to learn which pens were appropriate for bristol card. Guuuhhh.
Luckily I still have the lines scanned and Goose offered to color them digitally for me, while Bebe wants to paint over the original with acrylics. I do feel a lot better that the piece itself is salvageable. Throwing it away would have absolutely broken my heart. But still... I would have liked to finish it myself. I had plans for the way I was going to do those colors. [sigh] I'll probably get over it soon enough.

On the bright side, while I was waiting for it to 'dry', I managed to turn out a pastiche of SSM that even I am proud of. Harry Osborn and my own attempt at Lily Hollister (so tiny!) :
SSM!Menace would have been just adorable. All stubby little horns, all ranting about political influence...Norman all coming back from Rio just for the sole purpose of stealing her...
Also I finished that Peter x Harry picture with the newspaper and the world's biggest bowl of Trix:
