Hello, my name is Heather.
I'm very interested in applying to the MFA program in Film and Electronic Media.
I'm curious if anybody here is in it, has been in it, or knows anything they could tell me about it. What's it like? What did you do to get into the program? What the University's like?
I was an undergraduate in English Literature at Umass Amherst (woo, party school), and so that's not the most qualified applicant for film production, but I love movies and media, and so I'm looking at graduate schools to apply to this fall for Fall 2010.
But my problem is I don't have very much experience in production, beyond using regular DV cameras and some fiddling about on iMovie, Final Cut Express, and some Avid over at my hometown's tv station.
I noticed that the application didn't request any video submissions, though. So are they open to candidates with experience in the humanities but not in video or film?? It looks like.
Thanks very much,
Heather
