If I remember correctly, a few years ago the US government was gunning for him... They were really going for his head.... Did it work? Obviously not....
Why does he think that the US government is going to kill him? Because he is doing THE SAME EXACT THING as what Bush is doing (except Bush is doing is doing it more drastically).... Saddam is requesting all middle eastern countries to stop exporting oil to countries that support Israel.
How is that similar to what Bush is doing? Bush is declaring every country who does not support the actions of the United States in this war, an enemy. This is a larger scale because it applies to the entire world, and it's not simple sanctions. It's a threat of war.
The ARE other fuels that work just as well as oil, as well as being cleaner than oil. They are also typically cheaper. There are also ways to significantly conserve oil, but for some reason, they don't seem to do very well at all in the US market.... Most do so badly that the general public never gets a chance to see them. If I remember correctly, I heard about a car that was made in the 70's that could travel across the country on one tank of gas.... There have been cars recently (past few years) that get 70+ miles per gallon.... So many promises of hybrid cars.... Where are they? At this rate, I don't think the general public will ever see them, because the government stands to profit far too much from oil, and conserving or eliminating oil would hurt the government too much financially.
