So it's time for a rare event...
A post by me...Ryan...
Say Ryan, what did you do this weekend?
Well...just because you asked...
-Friday night-
1) drank a bit before we left for JMU so I wouldn't have to drive.
2) Literally broke into a dorm with the whole team to kidnap this kid and bring him to JMU with us against his will. He fought like a mother fucker.
3)Cleared a case of beer on the way to JMU with two other guys.
4) Pissed in a bottle in a car while going 45 miles an hour down a mountain on a sharp curve while the driver of the car passed a beer to the passenger of the car next to us.
5) Stomped in 3 gallons of wine in the course of the night.
6) Played flip cup for the first time and won.
7) Randomly saw Kelly Nye at the party at JMU.
8) Witnessed a chair being trown into a fire, someone front flipping off a second story balcony type thing, and countless other deviant acts. (all performed by my teammates)
9) Enjoyed the rocking ska sensations of Murphys Kids while being totally wasted off my ass.
10) Went to bed completly hammered.
-saturday morning/afternoon-
1) Woke up at 7:30 still drunk.
2) Got to the fields 5 minutes early (by early i mean before the start of our frist game...this was a first.
3) Made Richmond wait at least 30 minutes for us to be ready to start playing.
4) Lost to Richmond 10-9 even though we scored the last point (the problem with starting a half hour late is that you run out of time to finish the game)
5) Assessed 6 points from Maryland because they thought they had a bye and weren't at the fields (also another first, usually we are the ones being assesed points for being late...it was payback time.) Note: Assesing points means that for every 5 minuted the opposing team is late you award your own team one point.
6) While waiting for Maryland to arrive we stood in a circle and recited E. E. Cummings poems. He is my new favorite writer.
7) Ended up beating Maryland 11-10. Mind you when we actually started playing we were up 6-0. So we pretty much just fucked them over.
8) Enjoyed an amazingly long break that included the first food that i had all day.
9) Completly destroyed Syracuse (take that Aaron Katz) 13-5.
10) Beat U. of Virginia 11-9 to advance into the winner's bracket for a chance at overall 1st place.
11) Ate dinner a Ruby Tuesday, Showered, played N64.
-Saturday Night-
1) Went to a party thrown just for us by the JMU team.
2) Played quarters for the first time ever...and lost horribly.
3) learned a new drinking game. (baseball)
4) Got completly wasted and went on an adventure with the team.
5) Got on the drunk bus only to get off 10 minutes later and not know where we were.
6) Tried to goto another party but when we got there we witnessed a bunch of guys getting thrown out. Naturally we stayed to watch it happen and a few of us tried to insight a fight between both groups involved.
7) Stood out in the snow/sleet/freezing rain waiting for the drunk bus.
8) Lost three of our guys when they managed to get on the bus and we couldn't fit.
9) barely all got onto the next bus.
10) eventually got highjacked by this busdriver. He wouldn't let anyone off, he wouldn't make any of his stops, he was driving like a maniac. This freaked me out so badly.
11) Finally got off the bus a long ways away from our stop.
12) Got back to the cars only to realize that everyone we were with were staying at a different house than us.
13) Somehow managed to meet up with the guy whose house we were staying at while at a gas station.
14) finally went to bed.
-sunday morning-
1) Woke up to find out the games were cancelled and that there was 6 feet of snow on the ground.
2) decided to leave asap cause we all had tests on monday and needed to get back to school.
3) had to take the long way home cause we didn't want to risk driving back over the mountains.
4) Got back to school (somehow) by 3:30.
5) Took a nap.
6) Got a free sandwich/cookies/doughnuts from shannon.
7) posted this entry.
So that about sums up all the high points of this weekend. If you'd like more info about something just ask me. I will leave you with this poem (which really helps explain the tone of the awesomeness that just happened to me.):
let's live suddenly without thinking
under honest trees,
a stream
does.the brain of cleverly-crinkling
-water pursues the angry dream
of the shore. By midnight,
a moon
scratches the skin of the organised hills
an edged nothing begins to prune
let's live like the light that kills
and let's as silence,
because Whirl's after all:
(after me)love,and after you.
I occasionally feel vague how
vague idon't know tenuous Now-
spears and The Then-arrows making do
our mouths something red,something tall
- e. e. cummings
