Matt came over after work last night and I discussed my personal problems with him. We talked for a while and it ended up as us talking about destiny and free will, and the difference between them. We both look at destiny like fate. Fate is like looking at the world as a big play or movie and we're all the actors, and the script for this "movie" is already written no matter what part you play. You can interchange the parts you play since your part will always be replaced by someone else.
Example: My current girlfriend, Jo, was engaged when I first came back. Eventually she cheated on him with me since he was in the Army and gone for over 2 years. What I'm getting at here is that if she didn't cheat on him with me, she would have cheated on him with someone else. It was bound to happen, it was destiny. It just turns out I was portraying the part and holding the cards.
As for free will...It goes along with destiny and fate, but it's more of your ability to keep your role as an actor and reality apart. Even though you are an actor in this "movie" doesn't mean that you aren't a person outside the movie. Sometimes you have to think about what you want to do and what parts you want to play. That's all for now. Think about it.
