Can YOU tell what's special about this story?
Arthur was a small boy, in a small town, without many friends and without many toys. Bats, and balls, trucks and Matchbox cars, Arthur's Dad wanted him so badly to do the things that a normal boy should do. Construction was Arthur's Dad's gig, and Arthur loved his Dad, but didn't have much interest in the work of Construction. Dressing up Barbie and Ken, having them go out on dates, that was Arthur's passion. Eating was another of Arthur's passions, and you could tell by his jolly plump little body. Food and dolls, there were few things that Arthur liked more - he just wished that he could find somebody else who liked them too - and it'd be greaf it that person was a boy.
George was an older boy who thought the world of himself. Handed the world on a silver platter, George had everything he wanted - his parents were loaded. If George found something he liked, it was his - no questions asked, no quibbling over price. Just looking at something and smiling it at it was enough for George to acquire new possesions, and he knew this and took advantage. Kites, video games, Big Wheels, everything - George had one of all of them. Luckily, George's Dad made lots of money and it seemed he would continue to, since he was the president of a construction company - Xorbox Construction.
Many people don't know this - but George and Arthur both liked dolls; AND food. Never did they ever tell anybody, but one day Arthur's mother had George's family over for dinner, in hopes of Arthur's father getting a promotion. Ornate china was used and the best silver was polished and brought out for the occasion. Pieces of crystal were used to drink the family's best wine, in hopes of putting on a good show for the Big Boss. Questions were asked over dinner and things seemed to be going really well, Arthur's mother was pleased and panicked at the same time.
Reading the situation carefully, Arthur decided that it might be a good idea for him to leave the table. Speaking softly to his mother, he asked if he could be excused to go to his room. True to the form of a mother who wants to impress those around her, Arthur's mom said yes, as long as he took George with him so that the two of them could become better friends. Unsure of what to do next, Arthur asked George if he wanted to come to his room, and George said yes. Virtually all hope of having fun with his dolls was erased from Arthur's plans - George was a much bigger boy, and big boys don't like dolls!
Well, Arthur was wrong - and surprised to hear it! Xorbox Construction was constantly feeding George's love for dolls - he professed a love for them in all forms - Barbie, Action Figures, even My Little Pony. You name it, and George had it. Zephyrs were even part of George's collection, and Arthur liked those the best - he liked to pet the fur on them over and over again.
The End.
