This is my grandfather in 1947, not too terribly far from where I grew up.
For many years, he worked the resorts in the area. And anyone who knows anything about NY in the 1940s through the 1960s knows that those were some pretty jumping times. He worked as a doorman, a bartender and a few other odd jobs for decades.
I've come across a number of old photos like this. They're interesting.
