Over the last few days, I've been digging through a box of papers marked burn/shred.
I had been hoping to burn them. It's easier and prettier and much more symbolic.
Plus, if I do it that way, I'm not tempted to save more stuff.
Like the credit report I ran on myself before I hit the road on the trip that eventually lead me down to the DC area.
Or the grade report from my first quarter in my new major at college--the 3.0 GPA with a handful of 400 and 500 level courses (senior elective level). That marked knowing I was in the right major, because I didn't even try in those classes. Big change from the .5 GPA I'd gotten the previous quarter.
Or the receipt from my second computer. A 486 33mHz monster with a whopping 4 MB of RAM and SVGA graphics... and a humongous 170 MB hard drive! Running DOS 5.0 and MS Windows 3.1. All for the low, low price of $2,375.59. (Bought on 12/5/1992).
All of that could have been up in smoke.
Now I'm starting a new little pile so I can go through it again in another year or so and be nostalgic all over again.
