Adventure, all around!

Oh, that's right, Metro opens at 7 a.m. on weekends, not 5.

After enjoying more than a few hours playing "Atlantis: The Home Game, Welcome Caligulette! Edition", I'm a wee bit tired, sitting here in my office, waiting for the Metro to open so I can go home.

Timing, I can has it? Nope, not today. But I guess that's to be expected after everyone else around had been working/driving all day, too--on top of what seems to have been an odd and stressful week all around for bunches of people.

So, in an odd way, I win because I'm still up and still going at 6 a.m.

And, of course, I lose because I'm the only one still up and going.

Aside from the Spanish speaking pan handlers that were out when I trundled in here a little before 5 a.m. Seriously, WTF is up with that?

The night was great. Got to see some people I haven't seen in a while. Got to meet others for the first time (or, perhaps, the first real time...as it seems I've talked to a couple of them here in LJ Land before).

Heard some stories that made me very sad... and some that made me very happy.

But, really, the highlight of the whole shebang had to be listening to caligulette and the other ex-pat from the British Isles going on and on in about five different variations of accents each throwing out every bit o' slang and colloquialism they could muster. This went on for hours, folks. So totally awesome.

Of course, we all know that I have a thing for accents to begin with. :)

nights out, friends
