Well, that wasn't any fun at all...

I so picked the wrong day to rent a ZipCar and run some quick errands after work.

That was miserable.

Not only did I lose some rental time to getting out of work a little later than planned, I lot more de-icing the ZipCar... and then more because of stupid people on the road. All in all, down about an hour out of the three I had the car for. And the errands I was running were out Rockville way, so there went another 45 minutes or so to travel.

Good news: I got a bunch of the stuff done I wanted to do (just not quite the way I wanted to do it).

Bad news: While rushing to unload the groceries from the car, when I was down to the last bag, I managed to find the most icy spot in the parking lot to put my foot. Even better: that spot was the speed bump I was parked next to. So there was sliding in two directions with a bit of a vertical drop. This lead to my knee (my right knee... which I managed to crack on the sidewalk when I tripped getting off the bus a little over a week ago... which was just finally to the point where it was healed enough to not hurt) hitting the icy ground and sliding around a bit. This also lead to the complete shredding of the pants I was wearing.

So, now I'm down to not quite enough pants on the shelf. And that means hitting the mall is a must on the way home either tomorrow or Thursday. Neither day is preferable as a) I hate the mall and b) there's stuff I want to watch on those nights.

By far the best thing that's gone on around me tonight is the start of the new season of Jericho. It will be a very good seven episodes that will hopefully earn them another full season.

*sign* Now I'm going to go and try to predict how the new scab that's forming will interact with the old one on my knee... and then I'm going to sleep.

And I'm so not going to want to get up in the morning...

plans, ouch, shopping, weather
