Really hard for me to believe this is February.
The weather has been pretty darn fantastic, especially when compared to what I've been hearing about weather back up in my home town.
After last night's game night (where I partook of possibly the most un-Catholic Friday during Lent meal imaginable--bacon and beef chili... mmmm... artery clogging goodness whipped up by
blindtillnow) and a few hours of sleep,
predigested gave me a lift home where I promptly went back to sleep for another few hours.
Upon waking, I puttered around the apartment for a bit, checking e-mail and catching up on the LJ posts I missed from just after work until the afternoon. Did some measuring for decorating ideas. I'd done the measurements before, but they were eaten when my PDA died a while ago. Really should have probably synced that thing more often.
Then, because it was such a nice day, I decided to hoof it down to the K-Mart and pick up some things to make this place more accommodating to guests (since I'm going to be having one next weekend and all, don't'cha'know). Picked up most of what I was looking for. Resisted the urge to buy stuff to decorate with, to really make this place more homey and all.
On the way home, called my friend Amy back up in NY. By pure coincidence, I happened to call on her son's birthday. I like her kids. They're good kids. It was very nice to be able to wish the dude a happy birthday. I like happy accidents like that. I count on them
Came home and got a response to an e-mail I sent out the other day. Wasn't expecting a response. This makes me tentatively happy. But I try not to get my hopes up too high when it comes to resurrecting a failed friendship. I haven't had to deal with something like that very often, so it should at least be (another) interesting ride.
Tonight is
Spellbound. I hope to see some of you out there. Last week's Voltaire show was lots of fun and, while I'm sure it'll be a bit of transition back into a "normal" night at the goth club, there is always some new experience to be had, some new person to meet, some new conversation to stumble in to.
And right about now, I think I'm all about the stumbling into new things.
Maybe it's just the weather... but I'm feeling odd and moderately adventurous.
There will be adventure sometime soon...
