As all of us here in the DC area know, most of Friday was dark, cold and terribly wet.

Luckily, things cleared up as time ticked away into evening, so the plans for starsoup7's birthday weren't hurt at all.

There were a couple of hours spent skating at the Pentagon City rink and another few spent enjoying dinner, conversation and company in a restaurant right next to the rink.

As is always the case, it was wonderful to see people I once upon a time worked with and other bunches I haven't seen in ages (or, at least in a few weeks).

We left the restaurant a while after it closed and, with everyone dispersing to just go home, I decided atlantis_dc was a better idea than just hitting the couch.

While it wasn't all that crowded, the creativity was running high. judgefudge's twisted brain gave birth to a new drink: The Hot Tojo (1 bowl of miso soup + 1/2 shot of good Vodka). It went over like gangbusters. Even the most skeptical taster declared it a successful combination.

When I got home I discovered the drywall fairies hadn't visited. If I come home Monday to the same discovery, daily phone calls and/or visits start until I get told when I'll have a ceiling over my tub (and in my closet) again.

Over all it was a fantastical fun and friend filled Friday.

Tonight, I expect no less as I hit Spellbound to see Voltaire. You should come out, too.

But more on that later...

plans, nights out, birthday, friends
