Nice weather makes me sleepy

Yesterday ended up being a very odd (and completely unplanned) celebration of death and mayhem.

No, really. And I mean that in a good way.

Went out and saw the new Resident Evil film. I must say I think they've made the perfect video game movie. Just enough plot to move things along, lots of things getting shot and blown up, hot chicks with big guns and zombies and other assorted critters coming out of the woodwork like there was no tomorrow.

Lots and lots of fun.

And the best thing? The big big BIG monster in the flick wasn't computer generated. It was a guy in a suit. (And if it was computer generated, it was frelling amazing!)

Can't wait for the third one.

That was followed (eventually) by a trip to Best Buy (which is always a mistake) during which three dead TV series were purchased. I now own the complete (one season, if even) runs of Harsh Realm, Keen Eddy and Undergrads. Three series that definitely should have been spared the reaper's blade. Especially Undergrads (but that's probably because the damn cartoon reminds me so much of my first year in college).

And then today I hit the Adam's Morgan Day festivities. For a little while at least. It was too warm and nice out and I got real tired real quick. So I came back, did my food shopping for the week and sat down in front of the TV to continue going through the stack of video tapes of shows I missed while traveling (a stack that now has about 5 or so hours cut out due to the purchase of Keen Eddy).

There's also the new shows on TV.

I think The WB has once again produced greatness. Jack and Bobby seems like it's destined to be my favorite new show this season. The pilot episode that aired tonight was just wonderful. Now if they can keep it up, at least for one season, they'll have something special on their hands.

It's definitely better than the cop action show Hawaii or the "ER meets CSI" style Medical Investigation. Though MI does have some potential--its got a great cast--I don't think it'll have the sustained steam to push past the one season mark. Especially since there've been at least two other shows with the same theme over the past ten years that have crashed and burned relatively quickly.

Ah, well... more new shows premier all through the week. I can't wait to see if there's anything new and good out there. (There's usually one or two...)
