The Good and the Bad... Tomorrow is the Ugly

Apr 16, 2007 21:30

First, the good:

The work/interview session after the temp job went very well. At least I think it did. We'll see what the potential new boss has to say about sometime during the next week. Even better, I got paid for being there.

If all goes well, I'll be working in Dupont Circle again. The shorter commute will be wonderful.

Now, the bad:

I think I chowed down on my Johnny Rocket's burger and fries a bit too quickly after the work/interview session. Oog... very, very full. I don't think a big greasy burger with special sauce, cheese and bacon was the best choice after a day of running around and eating light. Will have to remember that next time. *urp*

And now, the really bad:

After walking home in the cold wind and random rain, I walk in to the aftermath of yet another cascading torrent of water from my kitchen light fixture.

The rug is soaked--to the point of it actually splashing if you step on it. The water damage on the ceiling stretches from the kitchen light fixture almost all the way to the other light fixture over the dining area and almost into the living area. There is still intermittent dripping from the light fixture itself.

Pictures have been taken (again).

The apartment office has been called (again). This time the business office has a nice little message from me noting how many times in the past year--and the past six months--this has happened, detailing my other water issues and reminding them of the bitch of a time I had renewing my lease. It ends with a very strong suggestion that my rent be at least discounted for the coming month.

I'll call them tomorrow (because I'm not betting they'll call me first) and complain to what passes for a real person. Then, on Saturday, I'll go up there and really complain face to face (assuming that they won't bother to respond to anything else before then).

This just pisses me off.

It is not at all how I wanted the day to end.

I think I'll still blame the frakkin' wind.
