Friday was the slow day... and that's when the temp job came through.
Saturday I made it out to
br0d's place and met a whole lot of new people. Seems most of them are in bands and stuff.
For those of you into fun and quirky music (or music by cool and totally geeky and dorky, yet still super cool, people) check out
The Gothsicles from Wisconsin. If you're so inclined, you can find them over
on MySpace, too.
Just as much fun, but in a totally different way, was some of the crew from
Caustic, also from out Wisconsin way. (Again, also findable
on MySpace.) As could be expected, they're a little more, uh, caustic.
And, since the party went down at
br0d's place,
The Apologizers and
Boole were represented (as usual). And most of you out there already know how much fun that bunch of home-town yahoos can be.
So, yeah, partied with the bands but didn't make it out to see them in concert Sunday night. I know a lot of you did. I'm expecting it was just as much fun as the party... but with less breaking things (maybe?) and more live music.
Sunday I had the chance to once again play my new (and still slightly crispy around the edges from the last session's encounter) Call of Cthulhu character in our ongoing 1925 adventure. Always nice when we can get together and not have reality get in the way for a while.
Tomorrow is the last day I have to count as without a job. One lunar month... not bad and not entirely unexpected. And, yeah, the unemployment did, indeed, run from one full moon to the next. I am all about the cycles. ;)
Now I just have to convince my body to segue back into a "normal for the rest of the world" sleep schedule...
