Well, that went pretty darn good.
I've got at least a 50/50 chance of getting this job.
It's a very small office team. Currently two regular employees (counting the owner/founder) and three kind of borrowed ones. Whoever gets hired for the position I'm up for would be the third regular employee. The meeting with the boss went well at Starbucks and then we popped up to the office (which is right down the street from where I used to work).
He did mention that the decision is just between me and one other person. Next week he's going to set up a meeting with the main client of the company that I'd be working with most.
So now that this is moving, it should move quickly.
While I was talking with him, my phone buzzed at me. The message was from the temp agency I'll be talking with tomorrow. Just confirming the appointment for tomorrow and, oh, by the way, may have something lined up for you.
Yeah.
Good day.
All of that was followed by lunch, courtesy of
pakgwei. mmmm... bacon-burgery goodness at 5 Guys. Stopping by to see him also gave me a chance to pick up one of the used ReplayTV boxes he got his hands on. Beware my TV watching-fu. I can now grab three shows at once--one in real time, one on my DVD records and on on the ReplayTV. (I really don't think I'd be able to split out the cable any more to get the VCR back up and running... haven't used the thing since I brought it down here.)
Of course, there's nothing new that I'd normally watch on tonight. Especially since they've already moved Rains to another night. grrr...
Looks like it's vampires on The History Channel while recording ghosts on The Discovery Channel. Just so I can test things out.
Why couldn't this all happen ten days (or more) ago?
