I actually got things done this weekend. And, through it all, I didn't even forget I was supposed to feed
fractalwoman's cats. :)
There was finally some real progress on the rewrite of my resume that I've been tinkering with for the past few months. A little more polish and it'll be ready to go out so I can make more money and pay my debt down. Thanks to
starsoup7 and
nofcna for really pushing in that department.
Also got real movement done on my book, How to Crush Without Being Crushed. There's nothing quite ready for human consumption just yet, but the groundwork is laid for the web site and there's an outline for the book well underway. Even some rough content for chapters is growing into something worthwhile. I know I've pitched the whole concept to lots of you over the last few months, but I don't always mention that the whole thing really sprung from a conversation I had with
violtelizard way back in August, right here in LJ land. If it weren't for that set of posted comments, the idea wouldn't have hit me for a good long time. Many thanks go out to her. When this whole thing gets published, there will be a major party... and you're all invited on the book tour.
On the prompting of
glittergrrl69, my mind turned to the Toob Talk project I've tossed around for a good many years now. Tonight, I moved forward a little with it. There will soon be a LiveJournal community where you all can come and talk intelligently about anything that shows up on a television screen--TV shows, specials, news, video games, movies--and the business, craft and thoughts behind it all. Heck, I'm sure there'll even be some talks about the hardware and stuff that makes it all sound/look prettier. Keep an eye out for a full-on community announcement when that launches.
And, for those of you who actually pay attention and care, I mentioned the other night that I had come across an old friend of mine from high school on MySpace. Just tonight I got a response from the note I dropped her. Hopefully, we'll be able to catch up and build a whole new friendship.
Heh... all that during a New Moon. Must be that whole year of the dog thing kicking it into high gear. :)
