Visiting different worlds is apart of my choice of career, though I've never seen this world before.

That brings me to my next question. Who -- or what -- brought me here?

The native scientists of this world. They tried to make the place better at one point and something went wrong. You know, the typical disaster theory that forces people together and work towards a common goal sort of thing.

They're not around any more-the scientists. But the experiment's still going on. No one knows how to turn it off.

We don't know what happened. If there was a machine, it's either broken or not on this plane of existence. No research notes that we've found. Nothing.

That would imply that whoever was performing this experiment - or whoever is continuing it - doesn't want it to be discovered, and went to great lengths to ensure that it never would be. It is either being continued in secret, or those who perished while performing it never intended for it to end.
