All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy...
You know what surprises me? Work is actually fostering my creativity.
You would think that working in a stingy office building would drain any creative energy in a person's body. But not so. The hours of boredom seem to have inspired me.
For instance, there are now two more drawings posted on my Facebook, and two more to come.
I have written some crazy, prettily-worded LJ entries that really don't make sense to anyone but sound pretty cool. I've written more emails than I have in the past six months combined.
Today, I listened to my iPod for about half an hour, wrote down certain lyrics to the songs, and then did a stream-of-conciousness type commentary blended into it all. By the end of it, it was six pages long (note: with liberal spacing.)
My crowning moment of the day: My boredom led me to do one of my favorite things - go to H/Hr forums and laugh. I ended up posting a very... um... interesting comment that garnered some fun reactions and prompted a mod to PM me. HEE. I was so honored. Ahh. Stupid delusional shippers.
So yay to work. It's helping me unwind.
