It has been quite some time since I have updated, even the slightest little bit. In fact, the last update I had was about me being pregnant and being eager to find out the sex of the baby. Well, it's a girl! Okay, so that's obvious now since she's actually 9 months old! Her name is Mikayla Anilee. She's amazing. She weighed in at 6lbs even, and was 18 1/2 inches long. For nearly two months, she wore preemie clothes because everything else was too big for her.

Mikayla is growing up so fast! She is, however, fairly tiny. While she's still pretty much wearing 3 month old clothing, she's very intelligent. She's bright-eyed, for sure. She is always wandering around, picking up things and looking at them. She tries to figure out how everything works. She knows how to use the television remote, it seems. She'll sometimes press the channel buttons until she finds something that interests her.
She plays with the xBox controllers all the time. She presses the buttons and moves around the little joy sticks, acting like she's really playing. She even gets mad if you stand in her way, between her and the television, while she's playing.
Another adorably fascinating thing that she does is how she takes care of her baby dolls. This has only recently started within the past couple of weeks. She'll act like she's feeding the baby doll, even cradle it in her arms... But that's not all! Now, she has been acting like she's changing their diaper! Oh, how I just love this daughter of mine!
Unlike most children her age, she doesn't seem to pick up things and place them immediately in her mouth. It could just be that we've taught her so well in that area, always telling her that certain things don't belong in her mouth and that she needs to put them down.
Also, when she's doing something she knows she's not supposed to be doing... She will give us this look like "I'm not doing anything..." and then once we turn away, she's does whatever it is she's trying not to show us she's doing. We'll tell her "Mikayla, leave that alone," or "Mikayla, you're not supposed to be playing with that." She'll stop, wait until we're not looking again... then have it. Eventually, she'll just stop because we tell her she'll be put in her crib if she doesn't obey. It's like she's already so grown up, she just understands so well!
We are most definitely enjoying every little bit of her. She's very fun to play with... Very fun to just sit and interact with. She is definitely our Everything.
