I have to advise you, although I would force you if I could, to continue violin in college, and even beyond that. I can't count how many people i know here who played some instrument in high school, and have abandoned it since, and regret it. I'm so glad that I haven't. Cello is just a part of me, and I can't throw it away. Even if it does take so much time, and sometimes i just don't feel like practicing, it is so worthwhile in the end. I have a quartet here, which I do enjoy immensely, but to be honest I to this day miss orchestra with y'all and Rice. I think we all like(d) it so much indeed because of the people and music. I assure you that if people weren't who they were, it wouldn't be as joyful. However, seems that IHS still has some great "peeps" as they call it, and I'm very glad to hear that.
Anyway, this is no time to reflect upon high school orchestra for me (it's midnight, I have a midterm on Wednesday which I need to prepare for, and I'm in college crap damnit! Why am I looking back to high school? Further proof of my love for orchestra and cello I presume :-) Good luck in your orchestra festival! Tell us how it goes:)
Best,
Evgeniya
