I truly hate it when you feel that you need to take responsibility for any spelling errors that occur in any design work you do.
I created a poster for a book event a week ago and yesterday they discovered that there was errors made both on the poster and the banner that was created for the event. I was given the info to place in as text...it was certainly not my fault that the info that was given was full of major errors...ie book title and author name wrong!! Of course there is no other graphic designer at my workplace to place any blame on, so I felt a bit uneasy about it all. The one to certainly blame for all of this is the other graphic designer in Winnipeg that sent me wrong info. If she got her facts right about the event there would have been no errors to begin with.
One thing that college taught me was that once info is given to the designer to do design work, and after any proofreading of the design, if no errors are presented to the designer at that time...the designer will go ahead and create a final and the designer is not held for any responsibilty for any errors thereafter. The thing is that nobody at work gets that...and it makes me feels like shit..I'm the one that will look bad.

Maybe tomorrow will be a better day.
