I'm moving!

Yesterday I called about apartments from a guy here in town who rents houses, apartments and offices.

I talked to his secretary and she told me about a couple places that would be up for rent soon and a house he had that was available now, but was 'rough'. I knew what house she was talking about and it is a cute house, but 'rough' is a good term for how the people treated it. I told her I was interested in seeing the little house. She told me the back door was unlocked and I could go look at it whenever. She said Ed (the owner) wasn't in the office, but she'd tell him I was looking.

A bit later she called me back. Ed had called in and she had talked with him. The house would come with a refrigerator, stove, washer and dryer. Also if we would do the cleaning and painting (he'd pay for the paint), the rent would be $400, $100 less than normal.

Ryan and I went to look at it after he got off work. The smell in there is strong. Someone neglected to take their animals out much too often. The kitchen is large, but a little outdated, the furnace and water heater are out in the open. It is bright though. The bathroom is a decent size. There is a dining room, a living room, a small bedroom, and a larger, but still small bedroom (my bed will fit in that one). There's a front porch and a really small deck in back. No grass or yard to speak of except on the side of the house. In the back I think that can be remedied. All in all, I think it has potential. I don't want to stay there the rest of my life, but for a year or so...it could be fun.

I brought mom back later and she liked it too. Her complaints were the heater and water heater in the kitchen (reminded her of the first place her and Kurt had), the smell, and if the kitchen and bathroom would be updated.

The first and last don't bother me so much. The middle though.. Animal smell is hard to deal with. Let alone my allergies, you couldn't bring an animal into that.

I called him yesterday evening and told him we were very interested in the house, but were worried about the animal smell and was he going to replace the carpet? His reply, "Sure, that's no problem. What color would you like?"

I'm getting me a house.

Anything I need for the house I'm supposed to charge to Sherwin Williams. I want to talk to him about type of paint and paint colors though. Today I am going to go get a 5 gallon bucket of spackling to start on some things.

I would love to start working today, but I have a graduation party to go to (my own).

Last night I finished the computer I was working on to get it out of my room. I cleaned a few things. I need to go through some rubbermaid boxes and get rid of stuff.

I am not taking the desk and the bookshelf. The bookshelf isn't big enough and I hate the desk. So in here, that leaves the bed, the dresser, the secretary desk, a little cabinet my art supplies are in and a little antique table I refinished (about a foot high).

Between Ryan and I, we have a ton of books. As far as computers go...he has one or two, I have one, a scanner, a printer, and for some reason I'm thinking something else is normally attached to it, but I don't see anything in my general vicinity.

William (the betta) may go with us unless Mom wants to keep him. Neither of my cats are going because the house is on the main street in Sabina and my cats are stupid. Pug, Ryan's dog may go, but I am not sure. That would be extra money a month, and I can't touch dogs as much as I love them. I've developed some sort of allergies and my hands break out and get itchy.

At the storage building I have a twin sized poster bed that I need to get a mattress for. I also have a library table, but I don't know if I will take that. I have my grandmother's china cabinet and kitchen table and chairs. Uhm. A computer chair. Then, I have -boxes- of stuff. Useful stuff mostly. Glassware and dishes and pots and pans and silverware and serving pieces and two sets of mixing bowls and a toaster and a microwave and.... I'm gonna be like a kid at Christmas.

Mom is leaving for Michigan tomorrow morning. Today I have to go to Waynesville for her. She is already ad Donna's getting stuff ready. I have Kaylee here now. I need to take a shower, get dressed, that sort of thing, because I am going to have a busy day.
