Since we're all fandom happy around here, I've got a fandomy question! For those fic junkies out there, what fics have made you cry? I'm a total lush so I cry a lot but there are a couple of stories that come to mind that I can't even read anymore because I know I'll end up sobbing. Okay, so maybe stories that make you sob or cry. Any fanfic that ( Read more... )

Hmm. I'm sure many have, such I'm a huge sap. Right now I'm drawing a complete blank. I need some caffeine.

I have a whole coffee here I've barely touched. I'll share. :D

I'm curious to know what's gotten to you, bb! One in QaF that's sticking out is Randall's "Seven Stages." It's got their entire lives together but from beginning to end and the end kills me. Oh, and Reaper Boy. Totally. Can't read them anymore.

Hmmm. I know some of ragingpixie's stuff made me cry, and "Raise Up, Heart" did. But I don't tend to read stuff that's truly tragic. Too upsetting!

Yes! Definitely something in ragingpixie's catalog that slayed me. There was a point in your collaboration fic that got to me. I know! I don't know how I think reading or rereading any of those stories is a good idea. :\

Ha! I said the same thing! Omg. I think I'm totally fine throughout the entire story, everything's going well, and then the end? BOOM. Sobbing. :((

thinking about Justin losing his pretty, boyish, Randypants face makes me :( I think it hurts the most about that fic.

"The Long Way" by Bigboobedcanuck and Ragingpixie is one of the few fics that truly brought me to "tissue required" tears. Absolutely brilliant!

YES, OMG. WE'RE JUST TALKING ABOUT THAT.

They set the mood and the tone so perfectly for it but it feels like I'm mourning and grieving with the characters. It's just so, so good!

I've teared up here and there at plenty of fic, but I don't think I've ever actually cried reading any.

I cry all the time writing fic, though. I think it's because I'm trying to get into the characters' heads and thus end up even more emotionally invested/connected to them.

Maybe this transfers to your readers too because a lot of the time I feel viscerally connected to your writing that it affects me. I mean, causes me to physically or verbally react (hard to read at work but I do it anyway). I think that that emotion that you have, writing through them, transfers really well.

Does my own count? I sobbed during the writing of Hereafter, LOL!

Found and Raise Up Heart also made me cry.

Lol! It absolutely counts! There's a lot involved for an author and I think that it totally counts when you're affected by what you're writing.

Ugh, second that! Tears and sobs and all.
