Amber! City of mysteries! It actually doesn't get any less mysterious after you've been here a few months; you just learn about new mysterious things to be confused by as quickly as previous mysteries are resolved. I find it rather charming, myself.

Although, if you don't mind, I think I will give a miss to the Rebman's opinion on Begman clothing which is really quite embarrassing.

Well, there's a reason why we don't usually talk about it, Addison. It's not like I was going to bring that up in polite company!

I still find it very odd to be doing official legal work not wearing much of anything at all. And then there is all the floating about and that is quite distracting.

Why don't you come by the embassy some day, and we'll discuss Rebman customs.

And yet, it continues to work more often than not.

Among other things, yes. My time in Amber has introduced me to a more liberal form of daily dress.

This explains why no one has yet thrown rotten vegetables at me for wearing men's trousers.

Amber is an odd mix of extremely liberal and extremely conservative. I suspect it is from the influx of people from all over the Golden Circle wandering about that forces people to reexamine their ankle-viewing policies.
