"All I need is a fast machine and I'm gonna make it"
So I fell in love with Boston all over again today. When you stand in the middle of Boylston St and look up you can see that there is something amazing about the sky line. Its not really cluttered but every now and then a building will jet out of nowhere and fill in a hole. It kind of reminds me of the bay (where the sand bars and the jetties shoot out and pierce the middle of the water and then disappear just as quickly. ) It feels very open. Like you can be whoever you want to be and thats perfectly fine. (mind you I come from place that expects conformity and is not big on tolerance) Seems like here there is always room on the sidewalk for everyone. (wow i think I just created my very own cliche).
In other news... Today in Human Growth and Development we had to write down all of our goals in life. Mine, not surprisingly, looked somewhat different from other people's. I doubt I will ever understand the mentality of having your only goals be to get a job, get married, and raise a family. Those things are nice and all but where is the drive and the energy?? I swear im missing a gene or something that makes me capable of wanting to get married out of college and have tons o babies. Yeah... I don't think I mind missing that gene so much...
Here is my list of life goals:
1. Drive from Boston to Colorado. Play along the way and work out there for the summer.
2. Have a relationship that lasts longer than 6 months.
3. Get a job waitressing in Boston
4. Graduate from Berklee College of Music
5. Get a job doing music therapy with handicapped children and possibly senior citizens.
6. Own a Jeep Wrangler (red or black)
7. Tour the USA by bus and be sure to perform at the Tribeka Rock Club, The New Orleans House of Blues, and The Paradise Rock Club.
8. Record an album and sell some!!
9. See Disney World again when it is sunny and warm.
10. Get signed to a kickass record label.
11. Play with or before Sheryl, Better Than Ezra, Matchbox 20, Counting Crows, Tori Amos, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, etc...
12. POSSIBLY adopt 2 children from china or another place that is in need of adoptions.(and POSSIBLY have a kid or two of my own if I am feeling up to it after my rockstardom. (twin boys named ian and isaac would be sweet...not that i've thought about it)
13. Organize a foundation to help people
14. Retire to the pink house on Corn Hill in North Truro, Cape Cod, Mass.
