Student Missionary....
So i guess for those of you who read my LJ...i have decided to become a student missionary for a year. I'll be leaving end of july...and won't be back until may 31, 2007. It was a huge decision for me, but I'm excited and happy to go. Although I do get sooo sad when i realize how far i will be from my family and friends, but I know God will be with me and guide me through ever aspect of my life for that year. I'm very excited. I hope to be teaching 7-12 grade, but i'm thinking to change to a younger age. But we'll see...for now i have signed up to teach Bible, Science and PE/Health. Subjects I hope i can excell in myself during the year :).
The island i chose is in Micronesia...its called Pohnpei. Its the biggest island there. I'll be having orientation in HAWAII! hehehe :) then off to the islands...i hope all my paper work go well.
The only rough thing is that i'll be pushing my graduation back a year, but thats fine. I need time to mature and gain a better view at life in a broader perspective. Its hard for me to realize that i'll be leaving my friends, sad to say that some of my close friendships may disappear while i'm gone, but i hope that those close to me will keep in touch and just keep me in their prayers!
ahhh...i honesly can't wait...and i know i can handle this...imma miss my friends...my family especially (yes even my doggies :)) but i hope that this will be a wonderful learning experience for me! I'm so excited...pray for continuing strength for me...to keep head strong with this decision...I know the Devil will try to distract me, but i hope to stay focused on God and his plan for me!
anyways time to go home and study and sleep! ahhhh :)
p.s. also pray for me and my MCATS...geez i need to get cracking on that!!!
