Heat, Turkey Sandwiches, and Mix Tapes

Nov 17, 2007 17:00

When I first started this entry at 2:00, I was going to comment about it being a lazy Saturday afternoon around the house. So much for that! My parents were without heat and hot water. The repairman had not shown and my Mom needed to leave for work. That's where their daughter had to step in and wait over there. Two hours later, I am back home! Hopefully it stays fixed this time!

Let's see, I got up early today and did some errands. There are these bins in the Acme parking lot that you can drop off clothes. I had about 6 bags that I was able to get rid of. Why I hold on to things so long, I'll never know. I still have the livingroom closet and basement to sift through, but I feel like I have made a small dent to clean out this place of junk.

I met emmiem for lunch at our favorite spot, The Countryside Market, in Swarthmore. When we first arrived the door was locked. They do this for some reason when it gets too busy inside. Fortunately, we did not have to wait out in the cold very long! Our sandwiches were delicious and HUGE, so we both have plenty for dinner.

This afternoon I was going to settle in and watch a movie or two. Guess I can save that for tomorrow. My Netflix arrived today and I will finally get to see "Death Proof" even though the ending was slightly ruined for me. Other choices are the "Shaun of the Dead" and the "Crowded House: Farewell to the World Live" dvds that I got for my birthday.

Have I mentioned another present that I got that I am really digging right now? It is a book called Love Is a Mix Tape: Life and Loss, One Song at a Time by Rob Sheffield. If you are a music lover, you might want to check out this book. Read the review at the link above, because I cannot even begin to do it justice.
