I have come to the conclusion after a week and a day of law school, that Hutchins Hall is the closest thing to Hogwarts you will ever find. The staircases don't actually move, but they may as well for how well I can navigate them. There are a lot of stairs, they all look alike, and I never know exactly where I'm going to end up when I take them. There's generally nothing to do but decide whether you're heading up or down and then head in that direction at the first staircase you come to. The worst example of this that I have experienced thus far is when I left the reading room, took the stairs down toward the library, curved around by the snack bar, took a left up a flight of stairs and found myself - you guessed it - on the other side of the reading room, not at 100 Hutchins Hall, as I had hoped. Finding my locker in the basement is also tricky. I still just head down there and kind of walk along the square of hallway until I finally see it.
In other news, in spite of all the reading I did over the weekend, I went into today's classes with a terrified feeling that I had missed something, that I had fallen behind somehow without realizing it. I think it is because I actually did have some free time this weekend in which I felt I should be studying, but realized that if I continued reading, I wouldn't be able to remember anything by the time we cover it class. I was very pleased to find that not only was I prepared for today's classes, but I also have everything assigned for tomorrow finished as well. This may not sound like a huge deal, but I received so much warning about the ungodly amount of reading I would have, that I'm feeling really excited that I have stayed on top of things thus far. I also realize though, that it cannot last for long. And with that, I'm going to go read some torts for Wednesday.
