Fairy doors

I went over to a local cafe to sip some coffee and read some more. I sat down at a tall table by the window so that I could gaze at passersby as I mulled over false imprisonment in my head. I soon noticed a little kid behind me, on the floor, and his mom talking to him about something near the base board. I looked down and saw that they were examining a little door, about eight inches high. It was a peach colored door with white trim and a little porch. A couple of little trinkets sat on the porch.

I deducted from the mom's conversation with the kid that there were several of these little doors, fairy doors, around town and that they were touring all of them. I thought to myself that it sounded like a really cute idea, and continued wondering whether Mr. So-and-so had a cause of action for false imprisonment even though the alcohol treatment facility said he was always free to leave, he just never told them he wanted to. (By the way, the court said he didn't. You have to actually be restrained, not just think you are.)

A few minutes later a woman with a microphone labelled FOX 2 News came in with a camera man trailing behind her. They caught the next little guy who came in to look at the fairy door and talked to him about it on camera. They interviewed an older guy who had always lived in Ann Arbor about the fairy doors. Then they did her little intro blip about them and headed back out. All of this was very amusing, but I have to admit that I wasn't really paying too much attention to torts. I decided to google "Ann Arbor fairy doors" for more info and it returned about two tons of sites and articles. Here's a good one:

Other than the fairy doors, the big excitement for me today was taking the bus for the first time. It is so much quicker if I time it right and don't have to wait a long time at the bus stop. Also, it's free and I'm not covered in sweat by the time I get to school. These are all advantages. Hooray.

Only one class tomorrow (torts, which is why I was reading torts by the fairy door) and then I've survived a whole week of law school!
