Mashable Community Assistant:
Mashable is seeking a talented community assistant to join its growing community team. Successful candidates will be self-starters, passionate about community and media, with 1+ year of community experience for a brand or press organization.
Working closely with the community manager, the community assistant will be responsible for monitoring and engaging with Mashable’s community on the site and off, identifying emerging social tools, running contests and promoting Mashable content and events.
*This is a full-time position based in Mashable's New York City headquarters.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year, accredited college or university
- 1+ year of social media marketing/community experience
- Strong familiarity with Mashable and the ability to pinpoint its tone, voice and topics
- Deep understanding of and passion for web journalism and technology news
- Strong presence on Twitter, Facebook and other social sites
- Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics and HootSuite
- Strong knowledge of HTML and blogging platforms, such as WordPress
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Strict attention to detail
- Strong grasp of grammar
