So I have dial-up at my place, which means that youtube just flat out doesn't work. I've been researching this pedal for a little more than a week or so, and have decided to purchase it. For what I'm doing, it's pretty much the holy grail of guitar pedals. It's a 45 minute ordeal for me to load a three minute video so I'm only going to give you

have you thought about bringing along some backing tracks or something? I've seen a number of indie rock shows with just one dude playing to backing tracks and some of them were great.

About that pedal, though...maybe you're hearing something I'm not, but I didn't think it sounded very good at all in that youtube video. It sounded like the thing was roboticizing him rather than harmonizing with him. It was a bit better in the "nice dream" clip, though.

Really? I mean, I've thought about bringing backing tracks along, but it just seems too cheesy to me. A problem with that too is that it's fixed and sterile. You can't make any improvisations on the fly/speed up or slow down if it feels right. I want to do something a little more organic. To be honest, I would kind of feel like I was djing more than making music if I wasn't making at least 90% of the sound in the space in real time.

As for roboticizing him, I kind of like the sound of that, anyway. I mean, you know my stuff has an electronic side to it in the first place, so having a harmony effect that's a little robotic is kind of appealing to me. I mean, it's not going to sound exactly like myself singing over myself, because it's literally a distorted electrical signal, but all in all I think it does a pretty good job. Honestly, that video was really just the best explanation of what the thing does in the shortest amount of time.
