I've been wandering sideways...
I just had a funny encounter.
I had lunch with my colleagues at a rather posh restaurant in the old centre of town. The meeting and everything we had before was pretty useless (like more or less everything, lately).
BUT.
There was a young waiter (who looked quite nice, btw) and I couldn't shake the feeling that I had seen him somewhere before.
The only possibility where I could have known him from would be some concert. I kept wondering throughout the entire lunch where that could have been.
I couldn't come up with any concert in particular, so I went over to him before we went back to the office and asked him. The conversation went something like this:
Me: Hey. Sorry but can I ask you a question?
Him [rather confused]: Erm... yes?
Me: I think I know you from somewhere. Maybe a concert. Do you go to concerts a lot?
Him [as if I had asked him if he was guy]: Of course!
Me: Okay... what was your last concert?
Him [with a little aid from a waitress]: Lake07.
Me: Oh my god, NO. Really?
Him Yeah. The day with 3 Feet Smaller.
Me: Geez, I was there too! Okay, that explains a lot.
Him Oh wait... were you standing on the right side in front of the stage?
Me: No, actually we were mostly on the left side. But when Naca7 played we were kinda standing right in the middle of... well, pretty much nowhere.
Him Yes! I remember!
Me: Oh god...
Him Hey, Naca7 are playing in Krems some time soon. It's a must for me. You gonna be there too?
Me: I know. I'm definitely gonna be there!
[finally introducing ourselves]
Him Hey, you know when they're gonna play?
Me: [after scanning my otherwise spotty memory]: 25 October.
Him Great! Then we'll see each other there!
Me: Cool! See ya!
[exit me]
We would have talked longer, I think. But I feared that my colleagues would drive back without me and I had to hurry up to catch up with them. Besides, he was kinda working. And I know what it's like to work as a waiter, so I didn't want to take up more of his time anyway.
But it's fun, the places where you suddenly meet people you recognise from concerts :D
And see? My memory isn't all that bad, apparently *g* I WAS right about knowing him from a concert. I rule! YAYZ!
Plus? Naca7 fan. That counts for A LOT :)
