Sorry to be spammin' but this just amused me too much:
Backstory: I'm on the look-out for a decent tattoo studio somewhere near my office and I've been browsing through a couple of websites. I've found a few that look promising.
And one of the studios has a guestbook section. Why on earth people can't just email their questions is beyond me but ok. Guestbook.
There is one entry from a 16-year-old boy who wants a specific sigil tattooed on his arm. And he has two questions, one of which is quite reasonable. The other... isn't.
1. How much is that gonna cost me?
2. Is it gonna hurt?
Uh, well. Your skin is gonna get repeatedly punctured by a bunch of needles. Colour pigments are going beneath your skin. There is blood involved. Blood that is no longer inside your body.
Unless your name is Wolverine - and even then the answer will most likely be the same, only for a much shorter period of time - I'd say there is a good chance that it's gonna hurt, yes.
I'll admit, the pain tolerance is much different from person to person but I'm guessing that 'comfortable' has never been used to describe the experience, so far.
Except for, maybe, by Alex but she's a whole different story.
What made me LOL was basically just the fact that someone even needs to ask that question. My advice? If you have to ask this kind of thing chances are that you're gonna be surprised how freakin' much you were not prepared for it.
EDIT: Uhm, if you're going on 16 and have been wanting a tattoo for 8 years now... you'd have to be 8 years old to first think of getting one. Apparently, today's youth is a lot further along than I was at that age because when I was 8 I didn't even know there was such a thing.
Somehow, I think you've got the timeline a bit wrong. I'm guessing more like... 8 days, perhaps? Try again in 8 years, dear, okay? Much safer.
