So it was a typical day in the city. Kinda day that makes ya wanna jump into a big pile of leaves or kick some whack a mole butt. I was just taking out my recyclables when I spotted him. He was coming out of nowhere, all sparkly and badass. He had blades and a big stick and wicked looking mask.
I wasn't impressed...but a tad panicky.
He charged and camr right at me, roaring all high pitched and big with the scary making. I held my ground, while sorting out my recylable in a non-threatening manner, and held my ground. At the last minute I held my hand up in the universal "Stop!"
He ran right over me and skidded to a stop then turned back to my painful butt. I held my ground again, which was easy as I was flat on it, and yelled it this time. The big guy skidded to a stop and I staggered to my feet. Looking him in the eye, at an odd angle as standing up was quite painful...and said "Look, ya bum. If you're gonna challenge me all duel like and stuff I should at least get to choose the weapons."
He just kinda stood there.
I could practically feel that my bruises were growing bruises.
Finally he just put away his weapons and looked at me, all big and bad and; manly might not be the right word here. I drew myself up and looked as tough as I felt, which was kinda like a timid little puppy but even those can growl a bit.
"Weapons?" it grunted but I could hear the question.
That's when it hit me.
"I declare a thumbwar!"
Okay, admittedly I had been thinking Ro-sham-boe originally but I figured explaining the rules would take forever. This thing could follow what I was saying but I figured that much detail was pushing it a bit.
Not to mention I have the most flexible thumbs on the planet. If there was that kinda category in the Guiness Book of World Records I'd win it hands down...so to speak.
Then again, he did have those claws. He could stab my thumb with them but I always managed to wriggle to safety. Truth to tell, I had the advantage.
I won!
I kicked his ass!
