It's about time to
Listen to the rain
Beating against the roof, the house the
stray cats and trash cans awaiting pick-up
You never hear anyone say they're scared of the rain anymore...
Even when we were kids splashing in the
aftermath of a good spring storm
The skies would grow dark
And they still do.
And we would run inside when we go soaking wet
and we still do.
And the rain would batter the tin
roof and it would be
muted enough to be pleasent.
It was always the most soothing sleep when
thunder would
strike.
We would fall asleep with the trees blowing 'round outside
our windows
