When Hellflares hit the world..

Last night at work was so incredibly insane and chaotic.

The iprint servers for each cybrary all died at about 6:00 yesterday evening. No one could print things except through the release stations.. oh god, was that a nightmare! 3 release stations + at least 50 people = DISASTER! Printing was chaotic because there wasn't the steady stream of print jobs throughout the night, but giant ass loads of print jobs all at once. Three printers were backed up by people who had been there forever printing 50+ jobs and releasing them all at once. *finds a corner and cries* [I did crawl into one of the cabinets and shut the door] other people who had just printed one or two jobs were in the middle or at the end of these giant strings of jobs. We looked through the queues all the time bumping other people's jobs up between these giant jobs.

After about an hour, people were smart and using the release stations on their own and printing capacity was manageable. Then the iprint servers in Lockwood were back online, and we had everyone printing all at once. It was so insanely crazy. There were 6 consultants in the PSC and we could still not keep up with the printers let alone the patrons. That lasted for about 30 minutes and then things returned to normal, but it took until close to 11 until things were nice, quiet, and manageable.

Once things settled down we did make "The Xerox Throne - the shrine to the almighty Don" and we did our usual paper tobogganing down in the basement hallway that runs from Lockwood to O'Brien. I'm crazy for the boggan'n!!! I even got to explain the difference between fetishes and just being kinky, some sexual disorders and personality disorders to my curious co-workers. These engineers are so surprised that stuff exists outside Bell, Heat Transfer homework, and the quest for internships..

crazy blokes!

I didn't even get to think about working on gaming chacracter journal entries because it was so busy last night. So I didn't even post them. Hopefully by tomorrow they should be up.

chaos, psc
