Saturday: Ever wish you could be in two places at once? This was one of those nights for me. I wanted to go to the Japanese festival with Sam and I wanted to go to Lindenfest with Mason, Eric, and Megan and see
American English. So, after deliberation and not being able to move at all on Friday (lousy knee), I decided to see the Beatles coverband.
We had fun. We rode the bumper cars twice, played some games, had Subway for dinner, got icees, and took Eric home. Then we came back, had to park further away, and sat by the stage. Mason, Megan, and I played card games until it got boring (and dark). Then we shouted things at the stupid and LOUD announcer guy who was just so very annoying.
When the band finally came out a little after 9:30, we had to stand up to a) see, and b) not get stepped and/or danced on. So we stood up. The poor people in the seats had been shouting "Down in front!" But they gave up after a few seconds. When the band took a break to change costumes, the three of us worked our way a lot closer to the stage, sick of the drunks and people stepping on us as they pushed past. It didn't matter - there were still drunks and a lot of people smoking.
The band was great. Terrific. I'd seen them with Dad and Mason at the House of Blues some time ago (won tickets from Breakfast with the Beatles, which isn't on anymore). The guy who plays George is really cute, and so was John. And we were right by John, so we could see him really well and watch him clown around.
All in all, it was fun. Yesterday (Sunday), we worked on the preparations for the garage sale this coming weekend. We sold the foosball table (*sob*) and got the clothes and furniture priced and ready. I watched
Early Edition at four (it was Christmas), then Grandma and I went to Portillo's to pick up dinner. It was an experience.
I finished off the night by watching
The Dead Zone, this great new show that Sam turned me onto. It's soooo good. I think I smell a new addiction. And since it's on Sundays, I'll be able to watch it! Yay!
Also, I sat and worked out all the plot developments for my still-in-progress fanfics. I'm almost done figuring them out, then I can write them. Yay! Take that, writer's block!
