My parents bought a house! Their first house, actually, and while it is late if you look at their ages, it's only a year and a half into their "second" marriage. Not too bad. The fact that they're able to get one at all is worth celebrating. WHOOOOO!
They move in September, but we got to look at the house last night. BEAUTIFUL!! Soooo not fair. We've lived in this cramped, crappy, poorly-designed and anti-storage place since I've been back from London (and a little before I left). And now, now that I'm moving across the country, NOW they get the pretty place.
Ah well. Timing has never been our thing.
So yeah, moving across the country. That is happening... on Saturday. As in, day after tomorrow. GAH! So much left to do, so many people left to see. It's going to be a mad dash to the finish line (and then LONG days of driving). This past weekend I drove Eric to see Princeton University in NJ and Columbia University in NYC, and that was a practice run of sorts for the big drive to California. The depressing thing is that I looked at the map again - that loooooong journey to the East coast is nothing compared to the one to the West. At least I get to see Megan on this trip. Hopefully that will take the edge off the driving.
Overall, terrified and excited about GIGANTIC change looming in my life. No job yet, but I've applied only to one so far and one screenwriting contest. My family will be with me initially so I won't probably start looking for a job until they leave. At least I have a place to live, and roommates. YAY!
