Overzealous Time Management

Oh, so much to catch up on. I have my own computer now, so there's no excuse besides laziness for not updating LJ more.

NYC was amazing. I'll write up my adventures (mostly for my own sake) this weekend, but it was a great road trip and I got to see a) Sean, b) The Delaware Water Gap (woot woot), c) The Daily Show, d)The Colbert Report, e)The Statue of Liberty, and f) ask Stephen Colbert a question (and get called a "young lady" a day after my 25th birthday - yay!). Overall, pretty spectacular. We also played trivia at a bar and our team name evoked boos. Result!

I had a job interview in Waukegan at 8AM this morning. I am always so freaking paranoid about being late (or getting lost and being late), so I woke up at 5* and left the house around 6:40AM. I avoided 120 for as long as possible, taking Washington down to Hunt Club, and my entire journey took me about 20 minutes. It was ridiculous. I allotted an entire hour just to get there. So I spent some time at Starbucks and then was still decently early.

The job, which at first didn't sound like something I was qualified for, sounds interesting and doable. The commute would be great if I could convince my dad to wake up super early for work, because I would be about 2 minutes from Baxter (CARPOOL!! until I get a car). The hours are 8-5, so it would take some convincing on my part since neither of us are morning people and my dad is a slowpoke.

Gas was $1.87 at the Wal-Mart in Waukegan. I filled Mom's tank again (since 99% of the gas is used by me anyway) and was dancing at the pump because it is so freaking cold out. I am not used to this weather! London softened me! 17 degrees is supposed to be like 60F, not below freezing, and it never got this cold overseas. Brrrr.

Oh, and kiraboshi - I have an idea for my parents' Christmas present that I want to discuss with you. It involves transferring a photo onto part of a canvas and painting. I figure you'd be the person to ask. :D

*didn't actually stay out of bed until 5:45, after Eric showered, but still...
